McBean played 8 years with Pittsburgh before going to the Padres in the 1968 expansion draft. He was soon traded to the Dodgers and spent most of 1969 as well as one game in 1970 with LA.
McBean passed away on January 31 at the age of 85.
Zachry was 1976 co-ROY with the Reds before going to the Mets as part of the infamous Tom Seaver trade. He was dealt to the Dodgers ahead of 1983 and spent 2 years with LA, appearing in the 1983 NLCS.
Zachry passed away on April 4 at the age of 71.
Grote was a 13-year MLB vet and 2-time AS when he came to the Dodgers in a 1977 trade with the Mets. He appeared in the 1977 and 1978 WS and later played in 2 more games with LA in 1981.
Grote passed away on April 7 at the age of 81.
Erskine was one of the last ties to the legendary Boys of Summers. In 12 years with the Dodgers, he threw 2 no hitters, was an AS, pitched in 5 WS, and earned a ring with the 1955 club.
Erskine passed away on April 16 at the age of 97.
Gone far too young, Moronta had pitched in the big leagues as recently as 2023. He was picked up by the Dodgers mid-2022 and appeared in 22 games with LA out of the bullpen.
Moronta passed away on July 28 at the age of 31.
Bean played 51 games with the Dodgers in 1989. One of a very few openly gay players, he worked to build an environment of inclusion in baseball as a MLB VP and Special Assistant to the commissioner.
Bean passed away on August 6 at the age of 60.
