So, first day out with the news lens and wow, what a learning curve. Bigger diameter makes it more cumbersome to hold for a long time and finding the subject is more difficult, even at 400mm. But what a difference in image clarity, compared to the old one. What do you think? #birds

How are you feeling?
In decent light, I often put the 1.4x on my 200-600 and itβs so versatile!
More focal length is ALWAYS better!
Now I wait.
When is it arriving?
What camera are you using? I have a sinking feeling you're going to cost me money π€£ This is better than just reading a lens review π
Worst thing today, twisting the zoom in the other direction. Best thing, no focus searching by the lens!
I hired a 5r last spring for the trip to the Danube delta. I think I'll try out this lens as well!
I'm wondering how it might work with an r7, which officially is my wife's camera?
It was taken in first dawn light - and this combo works well. (Taken by UTA).
I've even had xrays of hands and feet. Doc says there's nothing wrong, so it has to be soft tissue damage.
P.S. Voltaren doesn't help. ππ€
Love it.
The. eye on the cormorant: oh my! So clear you could check its vision and fit it for glasses, if you are an optomistrist π
I hope you're happy, that is the main point of new equipment.
You have a lovely eye, π regardless of which lens you're using. π«Ά
I am happy Cindy and relieved it has started so well. Love the colours and tones it gives. Thanks so much, I appreciate that. ππ€
Is it fixed focal length or a zoom? I have a 300mm I use with a teleconverter and it can mean missed shots from not getting to the subject on time. Can be hard to pick between it and a 70mm - 200mm with TC as it is easier to handle.
Very nice, what a lens! Enjoy
The shot looks really well
I use a Manfrotto 290 mono pod and an Oben BA-117 Single Lever Ball Head. The quick connect lever lets you disconnect with a flip of the thumb. It also has a latch button that when you drop the plate/lens on it snaps shut automatically, a little press on the lever its locked tight.
Excellent shot, btw π
No crop here Patrick and that's some of the difference. Better colours, sharpness and tones. Very happy π
Yeah, I get the low light issue, especially with my crop sensor. Took some Sparrows at the water bowl last night, 12600 ISO (I limit that as the max) but they're not noisy images!
