I’ve had the best luck doing things that I enjoy and trying to find other people who enjoy them to do it with me. The connections then follow naturally if we are a good fit :)

For me, it was just a lot of commenting and connection.
Joined a few tf discord, gushed about what I liked, talked to others, and after a while friendships formed.
But man do you gotta put work into it.

Finding something that feels worth saying can often be a lot of work, but it's probably worth trying!

Sometimes, and maybe most of the time, it's just saying "Hey, I like *thing*"
And though it feels redundant, it still helps others know who you are.
Almost all my dms started with "So you like that trope too?"

The big thing is making sure you move about till you find that spot.

My best advice (at least on something like bsky) is just be yourself and post/reply whatever and whenever you want! The engagement should come naturally with folks with the same interest and such. :)
