I tried to plan a road trip there but found out that a lot of the place is restricted for protected species during some part of the year and then you also can’t be there before 8am and also from 1hr before sunset. Need a bit more planning 😅

Yes the highest parts like here are closed from March to September (can chznge depending on years) due to bird nesting. Personally I do stay for sunset, but yeah you might get a fine. Never happened to me, but I often go with friends who live there.

Ha ha no the place is relatively big and free access, so there’s just some rangers passing time to time. What you don’t wanna do is sleep in the car there, or you really need to do it far from the main dirt road. They usually pass at least once when night is here.

Yes it’s very beautiful place. Well, I think it depends of photographers. For me this is the type of places where compositions inspiration is totally blowing up, it comes easily. But in forests I have real difficulties to compose images properly. That’s why I don’t have much forest shots 😆.

I think I've mentioned before the nearest ones to me (the South Dakota White River Badlands, or the ones in North Dakota around T.R. National Park) are a 9 hour one way drive for me, so I don't visit them anywhere near as often as I'd like.

I walked "past" there in 2010 - just a bit north of there, while walking the Camino de Santiago from France to Santiago de Compostela. I loved the Pyrenees and the Meseta.

This is in the 6th season, in several episodes. When Daenerys get caught by the Dothraki peoples, then they move to their mainland. Most of their mainland is filmed in Bardenas, and at some point they pass just at the spot of that video. You should find images online easily 😊

Man I so much agree with that. We live on a big piece of rock floating in the void of the universe. Much more crazy than some eroded sandstone landscape. We forget it because we completely re-shaped the places where we live. That’s why I love photographing uncommon landscapes like this. Thank you 💛

I remember travelling through northern Spain in my twenties. We were told in a intimidating tone that we had to be very careful, because it was Basque country. I have loved Spain ever since. Beautiful shot!!

Thank you 😊. Basque peoples are nice, they can be « straight » but nice peoples. My grandfather was Basque. I even got my Makila for my 18. Tho I never lived in Basque Country but I spent some time there. It’s beautiful land, I can understand you loved it 😊

My mom's friend is half-Basque, she moved to Spain, from Hawai'i. Salt of the earth peoples. No nonsense, passionate about their culture and land. What's not to love?
