First off, what is this year about? It seems that for a lot of folk creating and consuming on YouTube, 2024 was about moving beyond content. If there is any theme to this year's best work it was Touch Grass, or maybe Let's Do Something More.

We're not just listing video essays! Drawfee @drawfeeshow.com is arguably my favourite channel and this year they made an active effort to take bigger creative swings with slightly fewer releases and HOO BOY am I glad they did. This one is a beauty. So so fun.

This slower release schedule leading to more passion projects AND having something of real value to say is perfectly exemplified by Drew Gooden's video on gambling. This is easily as funny as any previous Drew video, and yet provides a stunning and sobering education.
