Para uso casual son lo mismo. Pero, técnicamente, el dormitorio es una habitación de la casa. La cocina es otra habitación, la sala de estar es otra habitación, etc. Por cierto, es *la* habitación 😙
Espero haberme explicado 😅
Yeah, that does sound similar haha. It's interesting to find similarities in unexpected places. BTW feel free to @ me whenever you have questions. :) as a native Spanish speaker I'd be very happy to help.
Hi!
"El dormitorio" is the one that means "bedroom".
"La habitación" (It's femenine therefore we use "La") only means room and it can be any room! *But* because we have specific words for the others rooms in the house (Ej: La cocina=Kitchen) we tend to use the generic word to refer to them

Espero haberme explicado 😅
We have 3 words: ložnice, pokoj místnost
Místnost means any non-specific "room"
Ložnice means "bedroom" specifically
Meanwhile pokoj, similarly to místnost can mean any non-specific room, but at the same time it can mean someone's bedroom
"El dormitorio" is the one that means "bedroom".

"El dormitorio"=Bedroom
"La habitación"= Any generic room, Bedroom.
It has two meanings!
Hope I could help!
