All they have is their self identity of "men" which they inherited from their elders. The idea that it's not an essential attribute should make them think critically, but instead they act in self defense and attack that which threatens their flawed privilege.

Being men doesn't mean they can't be misandrists. But I don't disagree with the point. Maybe some of them started that way, but overall they've just turned out to be straightforward fascists using feminism as a shield. The more fascism has become accepted, the more willing they are to own up to it.

I disagree. It's real. I think some GCs are man-haters/misandrists. The Wicked Witch of Hogwarts, for example. Yes, she was in an abusive relationship in past, but she seems to project that on to anyone she perceives as being/having been male.
