I always thought if there is ever a genocide again in our time, everybody I know will stop everything they're doing and fully focus on ending it. Now I'm trying to figure out how to live in a world where this didn't happen at all.

the Rohingya genocide in Myanmar happened before in front of our eyes too. sure technology and social media wasn't as omnipresent as it it today so it was harder to get good information on it but a lot of ppl online were arelady aware it was happening. it's censoring by western media was disastrous.
There were other genocides before this one, but you're correct, all were censored and apps like tiktok etc. didn't exist. Nobody can say they weren't aware of what's happening in Gaza the minute it happened
yeah, IOF soldiers posting their own warcrimes on tiktok really helped everyone see the indescribable horrors being committed to the palestinian people. i really hope the world will never forget of this horrible crime against humanity.
Dystopia is now, not the future. Gaza's been like finding the sunglasses from "They Live", seeing the blatant lies of the media, people we walk among who give more thought to what food to buy their cat than to taking even the simplest action to support Palestine & the disgusting denial of Genocide.
I find it so utterly baffling that we are watching a genocide land theft in front of all of our faces and we are not doing anything to force stop this. I wake up every day completely baffled that we are not collectively as a human race putting a stop to this. We are watching Holocaust land theft.😭🤬💔
I don't want to discount the millions of people who protested and are still protesting...but after a year of this, even they should realize it's not working. As for those who do absolutely nothing...I honestly don't have words
I’ve actually spent the last couple weeks studying as much as I can about early humankind in an effort to try to understand why we do this to each other, and why many just don’t give a shit - while some are tortured by witnessing this genocide. I seek answers in the nature of humankind. Nichts yet.
I also can’t seem to make sense of why there are some people who care and who cry and who really are deeply affected by this, and then the rest of the world who could just not give a shit. What is that thing that makes us fundamentally different types of human beings? 😭💔 why isnt everyone like us?
