I got the sense from Mendy yesterday I think, that Marte has been down the last few days, this guy could be a cushion with the timing of Madrigal going down, needing to shore things up.

Probably because Madrigal was a split contract depth piece with no actual chance of making the team out of camp and they have plenty if organizational infield depth but not so much OF.
