If you are using godot, I found that the input class has a get_connected_joypads() function which looks for all your controllers in an array, and you can check when the array decreases in size + if the id of the last known controller is no longer in the array as the condition for a disconnect.
I've seen this a few times, always thankful for it, especially on PC where controllers (mine at least) will disconnect for all sorts of strange reasons.
A staggering amount sadly π I afk a lot and my playtimes keep getting bloated by all that time I leave games running which keeps adding up even when Iβm on the home menu π π
