To be honest, I don't really believe in backlogs. They're just games you haven't played yet! This is a fun hobby and shouldn't be seen as a chore to play games you own. Just play what you want to play!

I always see it as - if you tried to beat games from your backlog then surely any of the new games that come out that you want to play are now in your backlog so it’s never ending
That's exactly what a backlog is, to me. Games I haven't played yet that have been on my radar for however long. I've never seen a negative connotation in having a backlog.
I just see a "backlog" as a way to prioritize which game to play next - it can be overwhelming to have dozens, if not hundreds of games you want to play without some way to decide what's most appealing.
That said, my backlog changes with my whims, and probably only accounts for 1/4 of my gaming
My backlog is actually games I am playing they just get put on hold periodically for another and I have to resume the save later, prefer to rotate them in and out as best I can.
Aye, it's why I find just having fun and flowing into the game you really want to play has been both freeing and exhilarating. If anything I end up finishing the games too in the process. Timing is everything, if I don't feel a game I simply don't continue. Flow around the tide, never against it 😊
I kind of agree. To be fair I don’t really have a huge backlog like some people as I usually buy the games when I’m ready to play them, but I have a few now that I haven’t finished yet or want to replay. I just look at it as exciting moments yet to come when I have time/feel right.
While I think your logic is sound and sure I agree with the sentiment I think mood and state of mind are huge factors in which games we choose to play next. But then again you can also just not buy games until you want to play them, so the problem is self-inflicted too.
I agree with you. I call it a backlog since that's the term commonly used, but I try to not think of it as an obligation or anything, cause then it stops being fun. More like "Ohhh, I gotta try this!"

I meme about the backlog but it doesn't actually effect how I approach what games I play, I'm just vibing 🙂↕️
I've always just called it my "Game Library"
All kidding aside, I agree. The "backlog" doesn't stress me out. It brings me joy to know there's still so much to play.

Sorry... what? I ... don't.... understand... 🤣
