Summer and Niko are both smiths! Niko is a god-tier blacksmith (long story, tempering involved) whereas Summer prefers the finer, more detail-oriented work of goldsmithing.
This also enables them both to make their own "tools" - Summer can maintain her THM staves and Niko can make his own hammers.
