First, the base word meaning: "In Greek Kalisti (Kallisti) comes from the Greek word 'kallos' which means beauty, and thus it translates as the prettiest and most fair of all"

So on a surface level, this is a reasonable name for a girl! Plenty of people name their girls a word that reflects beauty.

However, "kallisti" is also the word that Eris, the goddess of discord, inscribed on her golden apple before yeeting it into the midst of a bunch of goddesses and causing chaos.

Much like, say, introducing an Azem into a Convocation inherently causes a bunch of chaos.

I also liked "Kallisti" because it actually contains all the same letters as "Asti", Summer's given tribal name.

E.g., Summer is "Kallisti" with a couple of parts (K, L, L, I) missing.

(Apples are also her favorite fruit, coincidentally.)

In one of my AUs, where Emet-Selch finds her three-times-rejoined shard living in Allag as a palace slave, he discovers that she's never been given a name, so he calls her "Apple" - again, a name that's "sort of" Kallisti, but not quite.

(He tells her to call him "Philos" in return.)

So essentially, it's a name that hits a lot of major points that I wanted, and gives me a great deal to play with! Chaos implications while not being too on-the-nose referential to a single popular myth or figure, and a lot of neat little ways I can play with variations on it.
