Thanks. I was vaccinated as a newborn, prob. due to a family history of TB. I had C19 recently. Mild, but even mild cases seem to injure one’s immune system. I’ll take it up with my GP.

I'm assuming with my limited understanding, that T cells play a role in clearing cancer cells. So if T cells are compromised or taken down, that will be affected.

By early signals I mean we are seeing a rise in certain cancers. Currently screening programs being disrupted by health service shut downs is being blamed, but we are seeing this in age groups that were not being screened too. ->

Further analysis is needed to look for confounders like alcohol consumption and smoking (amongst many), but it’s possible we are already seeing C19 effects too, and it may be in addition to other effects.

37 confirmed cases of TB in my US county in 2023 (2024 numbers not available yet). That level hasn't been seen since the 1980s -- two consecutive years of increases after 30 years of declining case numbers. County population is ~1.12M as of 2020 census.
