If I can pull this out further and risk getting out over my skis - Neither the Biden or the Harris campaigns were willing to talk enough about when Trump was actually president, and that made this worse. We all know what he did, and I don't think he could win reelection his time if he could run.

Conservatives online absolutely made hay every time a Harris policy came out by saying “why hasn’t she done it already, she’s the vice president!” and *somehow* people weren’t there to counter with “he was already THE PRESIDENT.”

I've been stuck this week on the thought that we're in a worse place than if Trump had just snuck over the line in 2020. His nonsense and unpopularity wouldn't have faded, R's would have been wiped out in the 22 midterms, and in 24 he would have taken the blame for inflation and general malaise.
