If you're just an individual you should have the option at your Registrar to hide the whois info for free on .ca domains.

.ca's are actually annoying in that they require some level of public registrar for businesses.
personal info is hidden but if you're registered as a company, you can't.

but this circumstance was just a stupid .com that i thought was funny and forgot to hide my phone.
(its my public # anyway so its not a huge problem, but annoying none the less)

I've done the same many times as I own many domains and I legit had to change my number so I definitely understands, sorry man 😅
