Set of 4 drinking glasses from 1965; Larry Bearnarth, Rob Gardner, Tug McGraw and Johnny Lewis. From somewhere in my wife’s family, although 1965 was before she became a Mets fan.
Hard to believe condition they’re in! Love different colors & images are great. I had one of my 1st favorite player Roy McMillan, but cup cracked & I kept insert. Not sure if it’s from same set but is around that year. He was my favorite because he wore eyeglasses & he gave me hope I had a chance. 🤣
Thank you! I took another look at the one I have and zoomed in bottom right. signature by artist had ‘66 so it’s not same cup series. Larry Bearnarth’s daughter, who looks just like him, was connection on other platform and she would jump in on some of the Mets posts. Thanks again, great stuff!
Maria, these are absolutely spectacular. I remember Seaver drawing as part of something NY Daily News was selling after World Series victory. personalized photo from Harrelson is fantastic and Koosman looks so young! Just to be sure is letter from Rusty Staub? These are great thanks for posting.
He would always make a point of visiting tables at his restaurants - just checking on the food and service. If he came across fans, he'd linger and thank everyone for being a fan! What a guy!
Was that before or after Bunning pitched the Father’s Day no hitter against the Mets? Glad to see I’m not the only one that wrote all over my programs and tickets.😉 💙🧡⚾️
The year after that! The Father's Day Perfecto was '64.
My scorecard had Kranepool leading off, Swoboda hit clean -up, Cannizzaro caught. We never missed the Old Timers Days back then.
I've been a Mets fan since their first year. I used to cut out all the boxscores from the newspaper.
I wrote this article about the 1962 season for my website. I still have the bobblehead and the yearbook that are pictured in the article. #Mets #62Mets
this is a great read and gives much needed historical perspective. i am an “original” Mets fan form ‘62 as well, but i was 8 yo then and much of this is but a vague , distant recollection. thanks for this!

Rusty Staub autos are on two small Mets mugs found at an estate sale. Those are currently stored away.
