I think the order will be determined in spring.

If Jeff looks like he’s back, I see him as the ideal 2 hitter allowing Soto-Bear-Vientos 3-4-5.

I like Vientos directly behind Bear as folks aren’t going to pitch around Pete to get to Mark.

If Nimmo takes his walks he could also be a good 2-hole.

I would flip Nimmo and Alonso. Nimmo has more speed, makes more consistent contact and strikes out less. Good lineup, regardless.

The big part there is Nimmo. If he's healthy and takes his hacks the way he did in the first half of last year, it protects Pete and really strengthens the entire lineup. Plantar fasciitis can linger. Let's hope Nimmo heals well.

Siri/Taylor should be in the 9 hole to provide some speed on the bases when the lineup flips over! Mendy has unlimited juggling options with this lineup & should get creative at times. I understand the importance of having players know their roles, but as long as they are in the lineup, it's OK!

I could easily live with flipping Siri/Taylor & McNeil. I'm not 100% sure McNeil stays in the lineup all year. I wonder what happens IF (in capital letters) Acuña or Baty has breakout spring & forces themselves onto roster and into the lineup. (Note: To get the tilda ñ, hold ALT while entering 0241)

I think it provides a little more protection in spots. I know Vientos did well batting second and Soto liked batting third. McNeil at 9 could almost be that "double lead off" with Lindor. Worth a shot, but then again, since I'm not the guy filling out the card - what do I know. LOL.

Mendy, like many managers, is a creature of habit & usually trots out the same lineup day in & day out. That being said, with this lineup, he has the luxury of mixing & matching depending on the opposing pitcher. He can rotate Alonso, Nimmo & Vientos on occasion, which I would recommend!
