Tried #RustRover. I opened the main.rs by browsing to it, in the open dialog of the editor. It's not bad. Then I tried to use it to edit the Cargo.toml file in the same directory as my source code, and it seems to know nothing of that directory? WTF? #rust #programming - ThreadSky

RustRover needs to open the containing directory to understand the project correctly.

I understand that, what I don’t understand is it opening a file, and subsequently not knowing where that file actually lives, despite the fact that it was properly saving it there. I was trying to find the Cargo.toml file, ironically.

I think it depends on the mode you want RustRover to operate in. Either as a single file editor or something more comprehensive and project oriented.

Well, as far as I can tell, I chose a a rust file to edit, it made a link to that file in a temporary directory buried in /var, and then decided the temporary directory was the "project folder", instead of the actual folder containing the file. That's very unexpected.
