A coworker's kid texted them after school and told them how their friend, whose house was raided the night before, spent today crying in class. They're 5th graders. It's heartbreaking and I'm so angry.

So I printed out 5 different "know your rights" bulletins in multiples, distributed to staff/students, posted on my classroom door, & sent multilingual UCLA links to share. Staff were posting pics of them on their socials as I left for the day. I worry about them and their friends and families.

Then I checked with school admin to find out if they were working on this from their end, because I hadn't seen any announcements or measures yet. I was glad to hear they are actively working on it. But they need to hurry, because things are already happening.
