If the Democratic party can’t unite behind a disabled, survivor of the Jim Crow US South, and cannot unite against the targeting of an oppressed and marginalized trans population, they will not unite to protect me.

Yeah, I recognize the difference but in our political configuration they are holding back real and popular progressivism. We need that breaking off of radicalism like when labour arose from the ashes of liberalism in the UK. (I'm at a British history conference.)
Yeah, I've seen that. At labours's inception it offered something new politically, it was just bought and lost its radical potential over time. Real progressives in the US are going to have to have a new vehicle or take over the party to really accomplish anything.
We don’t wish to inconvenience anyone, but our shelter currently houses 18 individuals, and our electricity bill has surged to an unaffordable level. I'm genuinely at a loss regarding how we'll manage to keep the electricity flowing.
