I really despise Marco Rubio's spinelessness. He's also better than just about anyone who Trump would appoint, and he's not unqualified. The measure shouldn't be how many people are voted against, but which of them. Hegseth, Gabbard, Kash, RFK Jr are obvious. Could add others (Bondi, Zeldin, Noem).

I listened to Kristen McDonald Rivet say that they (democrats) have to give up some yes votes so the moderate Republicans keep talking to them (democrats). As if any of that is going to make a difference. I'm guessing that's why she voted in favor of the Laken Riley Act.

I don’t necessarily think she’d be more effective in the Senate. Having an NYC-based district a train ride away from DC is one of the best gigs in Congress. She’d have to spend time dealing with a much larger constituency at home if she were a Senator. And sit on 4 committees.

House members (at least the ones not in swing districts) get more leeway than Senators on how they spend their time. The downside is it’s harder to stand out and get media attention. That’s not a problem for AOC, though.
