It's a slam anywhere there is ski culture bc jeans get wet, freeze, etc on the hill. It means Vance is an impractical idiot who is dumb and deluded enough to wear them and look noob and uncool.

Hah! When I had reconstructive knee surgery many years back, the orthopedist told me that I’d never ski again. I told him that he was wrong: I would have to have gone skiing before ski again.

I think that he kicked the sedative up to 11 at that point…
