Yes 100%. He praises Jimmy when he gets frustrated about him being so low on the corpo ladder while Curly thinks about changing careers, puts aside his feelings/bottles stuff up, refuses to talk back when being berated, says that he will support Jim before the crash to keep him calm, etc.

While I think he’s more Freeze, the fawn response is definitely there. Nowhere is that more apparent than the scene you described in the cockpit. Whenever Jimmy gets angry, Curly is quick to soothe him… almost as if a part of him fears his anger.

Thank you so much 😭🙏 It's my mission to teach people that Curly is a fawner and didn't mean to do anything maliciously or to "protect his bro." He was emotionally abused, straight up. Everytime when someone says he's just as bad as Jimmy a puppy dies 💔

Anya and Curly's dialogue affected me more than anything in quite some time. It made me think to myself "oh wait, I kinda do the same thing." When speaking to Jimmy, they would kinda placate him by buttering him up - saying stuff to keep him from getting more angry. (1/?)

I didn't even know there was word for this, called "fawning." People-pleasing behaviors to avoid conflict and create safety. That's Curly 1000% percent, and myself 😅😭 I didn't recognize the symptoms in Anya until post crash when she was forced to be imprisoned with her abuser.

This is why Curly was so closed off, because he bottles stuff up - intentionally and unintentionally. There were clearly some good qualities in Jimmy that made Curly bury all the problems that he might have with his behavior - if there wasn't they wouldn't be friends.
