Thats a hell of a conundrum. Personally, and it kills me to even think it, I'd open them. Books are meant to be read and loved. It just depends on if you want to sell them on one day.

I'm vehemently anti-piracy as a rule, but not when it's something I own in physical copy and isn't actually available to buy electronically

I've been surprised in the past that theres no PDF's available to buy of the books. I'd love to play it but copies of the core set are not easy to find.

There's a steady trickle on ebay, usually between £50 and £100 (around £60 seems to be the going rate, which obviously isn't a casual purchase)

yeah. It's one of those "I'd like to play but only out of curiosity" moments. I did play years and years ago back in high school but i have such vague memories of it that I don't think it counts. We never played RPGs properly back then anyway. We fudged everything.

Keeping them sealed seems more of a prestige thing than a museum thing. Having one of these open on display for people to see the inside feels more informational to me.

I have book from series too and if you've seen one of them you kinda get the idea. So open one and keep one sealed.
