I thought screenshots gave no further automated activity to #skuM’s bots.
Is your caution over the human factor, that it still acknowledges that there is activity or notices of value on Xcrement?
It's not caution. Participating in X/Twitter this way is keeping the platform propped up. The practice is used by journalists, politicians, and public intellectuals, who really must be pressured to leave the platform. This is the way. We gotta stop sharing the screenshots they share.
By the way, your question is really on target. You're right about the screenshot technique, mostly, undermining the automatic algorithmic value to Twitter.
However, in the past few years, algorithms have learned how to read the text on screenshots, so Google knows where the screenshot came from.
Journalists also have failed to understand what happened to X/Twitter. Together , journalists and politicians are keeping the platform relevant, even as it has been weaponized against democracy and the press.
I could not deactivate through the app. I tried many times as did a lot of other people. Finally someone posted how to do it. First log out remove the X app on devices. Then log in to the web based X (website) and deactivate through that. I did it on my laptop. Worked perfectly
Steal this meme. Save it to your device so you can find it when you want to share it again. Share it whenever you see a link to X/Twitter, or a screenshot from X/Twitter.

…what was that place?
No journalist, no public official of a democracy should submit to X/Twitter.
Every tweet, retweet, link to twitter, or screenshot of a tweet is a dime dropped in the tip jar of the End American Democracy PAC.
