For Murdoch et al Gender equality is awful. My first thought was "who wrote this BS?" and when I saw it was Murdoch & Co I thought, "of course these cretins would write such a headline". If the Guardian or the NYT wrote this I would read it differently. I expect The Independent to troll too.

From a more constructive point of view, for the ones of us who believe in equality the first step is always to be aware of the situation of others. It never was a competition about who is worse or more oppressed, it is awareness

Of course women are more oppressed than men, and that is still the case. But men can also be (in fact we are) oppressed, even if for the most part we are benefitted by the system.

Fight for one group does not stop us to fight for others. That is the point of equality, it is fair for everyone.

That's not in question. But when it's women, we're patronised and told it's somehow our fault. When it's men, it's immediately a crisis. Which is the issue.
