More generally, Richard is often the good ruler in Robin Hood adaptations, so that where the views come from. King John is the bad King, but the poll has described him as John Lackland instead, pretty much no one knew who that was.
It’s strange wording though for complex history. I’m not a Royalist or a staunch Republican but I don’t see how anyone now could have favourable view on anyone before Elisabeth II.
Not negative but not favourable either as there’s no many people alive now who were alive then so it’s just history of a man who was a figure head for the state but the government of the time ran the policies.
