In my opinion, it has never been matched and I still miss it.
One thing not explored is the election of first ministers in the devolved parliaments which seems to reinforce the argument.
Parties are unlikely to have as much security around elections as the state.
In particular, parties use online voting, which could be compromised.
With limited polling, that would be hard to detect.
We know Russia will interfere in elections, e.g. Romania's.
Maybe we should consider doing something similar.
Thatcher would have been elected in 1979 had Healey or Jenkins won the Labour Leadership contest of 1976, rather than Callaghan.

I wish David Runciman's podcasts had been around when I was studying politics - would have made life a whole heap easier.
