I'd go as far as to suggest government should use it's control of the commons order paper and get an emergency bill through to ban foreign donations ASAP

It would be a federal crime for any UK citizen to donate to a US campaign, Musk donating from over the pond should never have been a question

Maybe ban all corporate donations and cap individual donations. Possibly compensate by funding election campaigns. With every party entitled to a certain amount per constituency that they stand in.
