Not innapropriate but theres something really magical about the time as a child where I would go to the comic store before tankobans were common practice for western publishers so they'd release each chapter like how traditional comic books were so I have a box full of some of these babys.

Genuinely so sad the owner sold off the place to a different manager. They used to be pretty big and have VHS/DVD rentals of anime so I'd watch shit like Di Gi Charat and Galaxy Angel. Last time I visited all they have for Japanese stuff is Yugioh cards and a small section of popular manga.

Which I get, anime wasn't sustainable, and appealing to the Marvel/DC crowd is smarter with the modern incarnation but that old owner was cool as hell and would call my mom to tell her he got a shipment of stuff like .hack//figurines he'd think I'd like and make sure to save a copy for me

They also had stuff like posters, keychains, etc and the new store just have the really bland figurines and nothing quirky like how the old owner got garage kits and chinese knock offs. I have a box of knock off pokemon toys where Meowth is like Green somewhere. Played the shit out of them
