Uh, um, so it looks to me from afar, as if restrictions on individual and political freedoms are coming in waves from the Whitehouse... except that The Convicted Felon is prioritising widening inequality to benefit the rich,....or am I not connecting the dots...?

That's a definition of "authoritarian" socialism. Socialism does not by definition include the political oppression portion of what you present.

Where did you source this? Sounds more like communism. Socialist societies generally retain public sector ownership of hospitals, transport, etc and exercise a social responsibility to look after those in need (sick, poor etc).

M Thatcher did support the NHS. But she sold off many essential utilities to the private sector. The results were devastating. EgThe Water Companies who stripped the assets of the companies they bought, paid themselves vast salaries and bonuses, and failed to invest in modernising infrastructure.

Well, obviously Thatcher sucked. It's more about my point that most European conservatives knew that healthcare isn't something you leave to the free market, having some basic decency/common sense (even if in all the other ways, not so much).
