I always think that it's just part of his "I can't be as sexy now cause I'm in jail" adjustment. Also, it's the opposite of Will, whose hair grows out while he's in prison!

Good point. I am interested to know how the showering might work. Presumably they take him to a wet room type affair in the trolley? I guess privacy would be too risky.

Also how do haircuts work because hair cutting implies sharp implements. So is he chained while having it? Is there a mirror?

Clippers and a hose-down after. I did read a fic or two where Hannibal has his own bathroom in his cell behind a door, but I’m going to assume that was the most unrealistic version of the BSHCI.

Fanfic writers can do anything of course. But we see his toilet in the cell. So yeah, I don’t think he has his own shower personally.
