I just think it's SO cool that the Nobel Prize in Economics in 1986 went to James Buchanan, who basically wrote Pinochet's authoritarian anti-democratic constitution that Chile still suffers under. See more in Nancy MacLean's epic "Democracy in Chains."

Nancy MacLean has a great video as well-YouTube.
It explains so much.
Some chapters were a little dry, but the author was being very careful to stick to good factual journalism.
Worth it.
That and Globalists by @quinnslobodian.com . And Wendy Brown's "In the ruins of neoliberalism" of course. That one is THE BESTEST best but MacLean and Slobodian are close seconds.
