Trump is now threatening tariffs on the EU. But what does Starmer do? We’d probably be safer in the EU but are a Labour going to sell us out to Trump? Just for the growths sake?
I keep asking this question and I'm going to ask it again.
WHY IS STARMER & THIS LABOUR GOVT UNABLE TO SEE WHICH WAY THE TIDE IS FLOWING. They need to get their ducks in a row because Farage will turn the next GE into another Brexit election.
I don't disagree. But I am not optimistic that enough of those who voted for #Brexit can be persuaded to change their minds. To borrow a phrase from Helen Lewis, it’s easier to con someone than to convince them they’ve been conned.
I do actually agree that maybe "reverse brexit" is an immediate bridge too far, but "get closer to the EU" is not, and then if the public decides they quite like the EU again, we can go further. We just need to make the steps to get closer.
I agree, absolutely. Without wishing to sound too manipulative, I suspect it will be important to enable the original Brexiteers to change their minds by degrees, and without constantly pointing and laughing at them for doing so. By and large, they are victims, not villains.
Oh yeah absolutely agree, I don't think its manipulative, more people need to see that an EU relationship can work again (I know it can, you know it can, a lot of people will be doubtful and think its a perma burnt bridge I suspect)
I love the people such as Lord Frost declaring what a success it's been - or the Farage Communism argument that it just hasn't been implemented properly🤣🤣🤪🤪
