She never achieved much, ironically. The German economy did most of the talking during her 'leadership'. Merkel actually made some terrible unilateral decisions. The consequences of which we're witnessing today. Including the tyrant Putin, uncontrolled mass migration and climate change.

What do you imagine she ever achieved as a politician? Which pressing problems did she help solve? A former physicist telling children 'climate change is complicated'. A politician who appeased Putin. A grossly overrated politician. Scholz has expressed more courage so far than she ever could have.

I seem to remember her, Macron and that bellend Johnson defending superfluous economics over the wellbeing of society when they publicly refused to close borders to limit the spread of the covid virus. The human, social and economic costs have gone down among the worst in modern history.

If true, and i fully admit to not knowing enough on the subject, and Europe did step up in to fill the gaping hole Trump is intent on creating it would have massive consequences around the world, not least with Trump, and Putin and the new world order they are creating with their politics of greed.
