Great video! Really hope the EU takes up the mantel on being the "new leaders" of the free world. And I agree with the Euro becoming the new reserve currency of the globe.

It would be heartening to see the rest of the world cooperate to isolate the US and support each other through the economic shocks. Bit of a long shot, though, and the UK has long been all over the shop, having torched its reputation with nearly a decade of hostility to the EU. No cards to play now.

EU officials surely understand the difference btw the current govt + the Tory lot. Starmer seems reliable.
The biggest obstacle to rejoining seems to be the Murdoch press. Or Starmer's fear of it. If he doesn't want to be seen as a traitor, some major event has to happen to justify a policy U-turn.

Indeed, the threat of an attack on NATO by Putin before the end of the decade alone seems an urgent reason to cooperate as closely as possible as soon as possible.

Labour's calculation right now might be that they don't have the political capital to go through with this.

There would have to be an event that made it glaringly obvious to the public, that rejoining is vital or that an overwhelming majority wants it.

Trump might achieve some wins in the short term, but most countries will be wanting to remove any dependence on the USA, either trade or defence.
