Totally agree, Mike. Mark Carney seems extremely well positioned, via his experience, intelligence, principles, and as you say, his extensive relationships with EU and beyond. He referred to 'humility' in last night's speech... as well as 'ambition + unity'... a very auspicious beginning.

Because they want freer access to our markets. They want our minerals, our potash etc just like the US does/did.

China just signed a deal and we are now supplying them with oil. Lost US business.

Given how little overt support Canada has had from the UK Government in the face of US regime territorial ambitions and its crude attempt at economic warfare, I think they may look more to EU than UK.
The Head of the Commonwealth was also noticeable quiet.
