It's a combination of a tougher deeper league (it's just crazy how many teams know when to press high now, play out of the back, and are so drilled on counters) but also that there's only one complete team.
In the US broadcast they made the point that Arsenal haven’t been top even once all season. Easy to say now, but they were never really a challenger. Just too many draws.
That's unfortunate, however selling Nketiah and not replacing whilst also flogging the squad to death didn't help. I suspect Arteta has learned a lot this season.
Doubt Nketiah would have added much. Obv all Arsenal fans wish we'd have signed a striker last summer, maybe the budget wasn't in place for it - need £100m + similar in salary over 5 years for the level we need.
A recognised striker would be better than playing a converted midfielder. May have not made much difference but bizarre selling and not replacing. We would have taken some catching though.
