I grew up in a culture that said interracial sex was a perversion. When I was old enough to read the Bible, that wasn't what it said. I'm biracial. My late husband was triracial.

I grew up in the south, in the 1970s, thinking gays and trans people were...well let's just go with "weirdos." I was wrong--quite wrong--and if I can survive being so wrong and then admitting it and be all the better off for it, so can you.
