History will remember who bent the knee. And yet so many do.

I'm just genuinely shocked that so many people in positions of power -- people who could take a stand, make a difference, and be remembered for it -- have no interest in being on the right side of history.

I mean, you're right on the merits but people generally don't really care about the verdict of history unless they're egomaniacs. And they're probably right not to! History probably won't notice them.

Right, when they say "history", they mean "historians". Most of us only remember the important Presidents and a handful of really bad Senators, and that's about it.

And "historians" aren't generally there to make moral judgments anyway. (Though that's often baked in.)
