It's well documented that one of the secrets to economic growth is simply growing the population. It's obviously a bit of an indictment of the focus on growth, but mostly it shows that politicians who say they want growth through immigration cuts are either lying or dumb.

Every immigration wave in the US has been followed by a period of economic growth. Every wave meets xenophobic resistance despite this historical pattern.
