5/ These fires are not brush fires. 1 in 3 US homes are in Wildland-Urban Interfaces. WUI blur artificial Nature/Society boundary. These fires are fueled by the homes 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘷𝘦𝘴...that are seldom included in the fire models used to predict fire.

...Almost impossible to stop until winds die down.

Yes! Urban wildfire projections in WUI are not well done or explained. Why? We have to really think about whether to build and rebuild going forward. And how to possibly mitigate.
