In America, sure. The Autobahn in far northern Italy/Austria is maybe a wee bit better, it has castles and mountains along a lovely valley.

I get that. There is also a train, which we used for the remainder of the trip. My former FIL wasn't happy about that, but I was delighted. So much less stress.

Not my photo, but I-90 through Snoqualmie Pass is pretty spectacular, as is the approach to the Mount Baker tunnel.
