Whenever I can just quickly edit something and propose the changes, that's a big win already. (e.g. "Edit this page" link which often leads to a GitHub PR)

I feel silly for saying this but I struggle with git's process. Several times I have created documentation and even code, sent it to someone and they committed it for me. :/ there was a month where I was regularly committing but then I stopped and when I came by I forgot how to push-pull-etc

That's not silly at all. Git (and GitHub) is it's own world.
