If you're an animation student I don't know if I would be able to teach you a lot haha. I've not been doing 3D a lot. Squishing and tearing are geo nodes that I made. Wet spots are dynamic paint. Milk is fluid sim. Some bone wiggles are made with wiggle 2 addon. The rest is regular animation.
CX, we learnt how to animate and mostly theory for like...3 years in Uni...other than that, was all on us...Plus they only really taught Maya, so im like a deer in headlights when it comes to blender, ive been meanin to nip over and learn it!
Well you learn anything by practice mostly. I think it's hard to feel like doing it on your own, but it's beneficial. I started learning programming by myself when i was young, and i made my college in that field.
And honestly seeing the other learn through the courses we had at college it was clear that it wasn't enough to be able to do it well. Theory is one thing, but you get to be confident in your thing only once you've started actually doing stuff.
And obviously it helps to have people you can ask help to, but if you did start working in maya, and you learnt theory at uni, i'm sure you'll be alright with blender. Keep it up! And don't hesitate if you have specific questions about how i made stuff, I'd be glad to answer.
