Just because they didn’t care to put their shoes on or walk to the mailbox to vote, doesn’t automatically mean they don’t care what he does. That’s a stretch! Jesus.

Well, the point is they don't care what Trump will do. As for their reasons, we can only speculate. I like to focus on measurable. And the measurable part is that more than 35% of US voters didn't care to put their shoes on, as you say.

Nope. That’s not the point at all. They’re lazy. Period. You can measure statistics until the cows come home using a computer for a brain and no logic. People have feelings and logic and Mr Spock, you’re not accounting for that in your analysis. How do you measure the guilt they’ll feel

Public opinion matters a lot. The reason those in Congress go along with Trump is his threat to primary them with someone crazier. Holding onto power is what they worry about. The moment politicians sense the winds have shifted they’ll abandon him immediately.

Public polls are far less relevant in a FPTP system in place for House elections. Those are partisan and binary, with a very small number of partisan voters deciding the elections. Polls tend to be more representative sample of population... But that is not the same as voting population.

Considering this is a thread where someone said that "most" Americans want Trump, yes it's important to truly point out how few people actually want him. Even if you want to say that people who didn't vote are complicit, objectively they did not want him either
