Right. I live in Oregon. The majority that lives in the Willamette valley is blue, but the other 3/4 of state area is red. There's also the state of Jefferson.

Never suggested otherwise. In the case of Oregon, there is a clear delineation in geography. The majorities in towns and cities are wildly polarized. Of course, there are red/blue pockets spread throughout. Politics south of Eugene is markedly different than that to the north.
