Question, for you and @bwildemtl.bsky.social: Tomorrow's game is the most politically charged hockey game since 1972. Canadian news media knows it, but why is sports media ignoring the orange elephant in the room? Corporate overlords? Knowledge that most hockey players are maga? Cos this is huge.

It is a lot to expect. I hope that the media and fans alike will be patient as he's coming in as a kid from another country who's gonna have to find his way, most likely before even becoming a ppg player.
I'm wishing him great success as he seems like a great and talented kid.

I hope Demidov can survive the pressures of Montreal and avoid major injuries as well! I am excited as a fan to see what he can bring.. 100-point seasons would be great, but what happens if he doesn't live up to the hype. Will he get driven out of Montreal as well?

He seems highly intelligent and pretty tough. But this place can zap you. If he goes scoreless his first three games in the NHL they'll be screaming that he's another Galchenyuk. Then it will be up to him to tough it out.
Might help that his English and French will be less than perfect.

Great read Jack. My hero growing up and no one was even close. Was 19 when he couldn’t stand playing for Lemaire anymore. What happened to this org in the years since has been an unmitigated disaster. 2 Cups won by Herculean goaltending. This team’s fans deserve excitement again.
