It probably means you need to update your operating system as after a certain point older O/S versions aren’t maintained.

Honestly, probably cheaper / less stressful to get a new pc and transfer your files over if that’s an option for you.

So Windows is ending support to Windows 10, and I guess my PC doesn't meet "requirements" for Windows 11. If all I need is a newer CPU (?) wouldn't it be fairly simple?
Or I could be wrong about everything I just said.

No, doesn’t look like you need a new processor as you already have that exceeded with your existing one.

Maybe try contacting Best Buy Geek Squad (or wherever you purchased it previously) and see if they can quote you on what updates need to be made.

Alas looks like a no go. And to be honest there are some pretty good black Friday deals on newer Ryzen CPUs and an upgrade might be nice. I think I understand what to look for as far as comparability, but also might end up setting my computer on fire.

What is the Motherboard ?

Is it a ASROCK A320M ?
If so, it says it support Windows 11. So yeah find a CPU that supports that motherboard and Windows 11

Honestly this is coming up now because Amazon kept showing me Black Friday deals on Ryzen CPUs. I literally have no idea what I'm talking about, I'm just reading off the product pages.

Windows 10 will reach end of support on October 14, 2025
I wouldn't worry about it this year prices change constantly. You could even buy a used AM4 CPU on Ebay. Find someone locally that can help inexpensively

You might have to update the BIOS too, take your time you have a year to figure it out.
